Debate

43

By CraigHRichards

The debates are on
and the rhetoric
is spewing from these
candidates.
It's nothing but fluffy
buzzwords and veiled
attacks.
A jab here
an accusation there.
Liberty…freedom…
…religion…constitution…
freedom…constitution…
…liberty…religion…

I click it off.
This is the third debate
and I won’t hear anything new.
One looks like his hair
is made of plastic
like a Lego man’s.
The other looks like
he is made out of clay.
The other looks like he’s
on the verge of death
but talks like he’s thirty.
The other is a
dick swingin’ Texan
who doesn’t know the meanings
of the words he is saying and
has a jaw like a fist.

I like the Libertarian
most. He is going to lose.
And one of the other evils
is going to win.
But I’d rather not vote for evil
much less the lesser
of two evils once these primaries are over.

I get in my car and light a cigarette
and drive away.

Welcome. Try to be more elaborate with your writing to make the article more reader friendly

i dont think being expressive means being elaborate, its about writing something unique and using your own personal style to get out what you are trying to say, if we all tried to be "reader friendly" then literature in itself would be terribly mundane. i loved this poem ;)
